Renters Rights Assembly

People protesting for renters rights.

The Renters Rights Assembly meets on the first Thursdays of the month, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, at our offices at First Grace United Methodist Church, which is located at 3401 Canal Street. Please enter through the back of the building, via the parking lot.

Dinner is provided- see you there!

JPNSI holds monthly Renters Rights Assemblies to build capacity and power amongst New Orleans' renters, so together we can fight for and win housing justice. At the Renters Rights Assemblies, we do Know Your Rights trainings, monitor legislation that could impact housing rights and access at the city and state level, support tenants undergoing evictions and fight unjust evictions. We are also launching a court watch program to monitor eviction court- please email Lead Organizer and Community Engagement Coordinator Y. Frank Southall if you would like to get involved.

Pro-bono legal support is available at our meetings for any tenant with questions regarding their leases or their housing issues.
